ADAWA

Welcome to the official website of the African Daycare Association of WA (ADAWA). We are an early learning childhood industry association for independent licensed childcare programs in Washington state, including both commercial and noncommercial daycares. ADAWA members encompass licensed childcare centers, home childcare agencies,Montessori schools, elementary schools, preschools, private schools, and school-age programs. ADAWA provides a forum for the owners, managers, and boards of these organizations to collaborate, aiming to maintain and improve childcare quality and expand the range of licensed childcare choices available to Washingtonian families through certified and customized services. ADAWA member centers are located throughout Washington state. Most operate as small businesses, with one or more locations within a single community. Others function as non-profits, managed by churches, mosques, temples, or neighborhood and Indigenous groups. Some are part of larger commercial enterprises or workplaces. ADAWA membership is voluntary, and we sustain our operations through donations and other in-kind support. The association is managed by its members and the families they serve. Thank you for taking the time to visit us. We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you.

The founding principal of the Africans Daycare Association of WA, (ADAWA) Mission statement.

To promote the unity and solidarity of Daycare business owners in
Washington state. Through coordination and intensifying their cooperation
and effort to achieve a better life for children and our clients.

Parental Choice.
ADAWA, believes families deserve the best possible early learning
opportunities for their children, and helps its members optimize their
operational efficiency to ensure that parents receive excellent value for
their child care investments in Washington State. (ADAWA). Believes that

families are best served when they have the opportunity to choose from a
wide range of high-quality early learning and childcare options. (ADAWA)
recognizes that every child learns differently, and with a variety of options
from which to choose, parents can make decisions that best serve their
children’s interests and future.

Quality
Adawa encourages Its members to continually improve and enhance the
services they offer families and provides them with information, ideas,
inspiration, and peer support opportunities to aid them in doing so. In
addition to prioritizing safety, children’s well-being depends on a clean and
conducive environment.

Value

Innovation ADAWA recognizes that the way early learning and child care
programs are currently delivered is not necessarily how they will be
delivered in the future. ADAWA supports and assists its members in
identifying and responding to trends and developing new ways of
supporting children’s learning. It is also important to meet with parents
regularly to provide resources and support for them, whether they are
incentives or any other kind of useful support that will raise the value of
their support.

Respect for the Individual
ADAWA believes in the innate value and potential of every child,
regardless of medical status or learning needs. ADAWA always seeks to
improve its members ability to support children with physical or
developmental challenges.
